Under the roof of interpack PROCESSES AND PACKAGING 2008, to be staged in Düsseldorf from 24 to 30 April, the INNOVATIONPARC PACKAGING will present visitors with solutions for the various needs of homes, retail, logistical services as well as manufacturers in an interactive format and serve as a forum for approaching participating companies directly. The focus will be on fast-moving consumer goods.
A fundamental aspect of this holistic concept will be competence centers addressing such keywords as sustainability (regarding packaging), convenience (functional design for B2B and B2C packaging), consumer insights (target-group-specific packaging needs), point of sale and imagination (creative possibilities in packaging construction and design). Round presentation areas will be occupied by producers of folding box packaging, manufacturers of packaging machinery, design agencies and retailers. The layout will allow visitors to discuss relevant focal themes with experts from the various stages in the value chain. Among the INNOVATIONPARC PACKAGING participants, big names such as Metro, Smurfit Kappa Baden Karton, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, MAN Roland Druckmaschinen, Siegwerk Druckfarben and COPACO were attracted into exhibiting.
Visitors to the INNOVATIONPARC PACKAGING will also be able to take in a store shelf optimised according to marketing principles and an age explorer, which will offer an insight into the experiences of the 70-plus target group in a retail outlet with the help of a special suit and pair of glasses.
Partners to the INNOVATIONPARC PACKAGING are PRO CARTON International (the European Association of Cartonboard and Carton Manufacturers), the EHI Retail Institute, which will represent retail, and the Pan-European Brand Design Association (PDA), which will act on behalf of the packaging design sector. Each of these supporting organisations will also step out at stands in the INNOVATIONPARC PACKAGING.
The INNOVATIONPARC PACKAGING in Hall 7a will be open to trade visitors throughout interpack’s run. A daily programme of talks on a stage integrated into the special presentation will round out the showcase.

Overview of the 2007-2009 Russian Market of Glass Jars 2009 was a difficult year for the Russian market of glass containers. During the previous years, production capacities had failed to meet the needs of glass jar consumers, which led to a deficit in this market segment, while no such deficit was present in the glass bottle segment. In 2009, the latter had to reduce its volume of output by 18.3% under the impact of the economic crisis.
